About

Why we started Pretaris

Pretaris prices fast-food menus store by store. We work out which prices to change at which locations, and measure what each change earned.

We're Alexander Hammond and Rodrigo Alves, business students at Washington University in St. Louis and IE University in Madrid.

During our time doing economic modeling and financial analysis at RCF Consulting, we got inspired to ask questions about how multi-location chains price items. We noticed something: two locations would charge the exact same price for an item, despite very different factors such as guest profile and delivery share.

So we built Pretaris: pricing set store by store, based on what guests actually pay, tailored to your long-term goals.

Latin · price · worth · value

Our name comes from the Latin word for price. It also means worth and value. What an item is worth is not what it costs to make. It's what it means to the customer ordering it. Finding that number, and proving it, is the job.
